Helleboro – Birrificio WAR

Time for the firs beer of WAR brewery! And I am so happy because I choose a kick-ass Blanche! Read the humble beer tasting of Helleboro!

VISUAL ANALYSIS

Foam: white, abundant. Mousse-like texture with good adhesion to the glass surface.
Appearance: hazy pale golden. Golden reflections.
Effervescence: low.

OLFACTORY ANALYSIS

Scent/ olfactory sensation: rich, spicy and fruity. Tangerine, lemon leaves, bread crust. Yuzy comes out more after a few, followed by cereals and pepper hints. Jasmine and chamomile, coriander.
Intensity of aroma: intense.

Refinement of aroma: inviting.
GUSTATORY PERCEPTION

Tactile sensation: thin body, creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation.
Intensity of aroma: pretty intense. Soft and fresh acidity, moderate sweetness, very low hop bitterness, more correlated to the citrus peel.
Olfacto- Gustatory sensation/ back aroma:
Taste: even if the body is pretty thin, the aroma is rich, wrap rounding, deep, round. A perfect combination of spiciness (coriander, white pepper) fruitiness (candied orange peel, juicy yuzu, apricot) and maltiness (bread crust, sweet biscuit). Hay, dough/fresh yeast, flowers in middle. Citrusy/ wheat freshness during all the tasting.

Persistence of aroma/ end: medium length. Long-lasting citrusy (tangerine and yuzu) and coriander finish. Dry.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: I love this special Italian Blanche. I adore the intensity and the thin character of this great psycho Italian Blanche.

VEG FOOD PAIRING: cow cheeses (not too mature) served with yellow stone fruit jam (hey: apricot cheesecake is ok!), main dishes with herbs,

La Birra Senza Nome – CRAK

La Birra Senza Nome (nameless beer) is the newest limited edition by Crak Brewery. This beer will remember two pine trees cat a few weeks ago. “On the night of June 29th 2019, the famous pines along the A4 motorway between Padua and Venice. (…) For the most frequent visitors of the A4 highway, those pines, for more than 60 years, have been the signal of arrival in Padua. In memory of their disappearance, we created the beer with no name, but with a strong symbol: the famous A4 Pines designed by Emmanuele Panzarini, a famous Paduan artist”.
